Abstract:Objectivec To investigate the correlation between the ratio of total cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and rotator cuff tear. Methods From January 2018 to June 2023,797 patients hospitalized in the department of orthopedics of Kunshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital who underwent shoulder arthroscopy surgery were selected. There were 259 males and 538 females. The age ranged from 40 to 79 years, with an average age of (58.86±8.73) years. They were divided into 559 cases of rotator cuff tear group and 238 cases of non rotator cuff tear group according to whether there was rotator cuff tear.We collected the basic information of patients and laboratory test results, and used multivariate logistic regression analysis to explore the correlation between the ratio of total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and rotator cuff tear. Results The age, fasting blood sugar, neutrophils, total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein ratio in rotator cuff tear group were higher than those in non rotator cuff tear group. The levels of hemoglobin,high-density lipoprotein, serum magnesium and serum phosphorus in the rotator cuff tear group were lower than those in the non rotator cuff tear group.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein ratio was related to the occurrence of rotator cuff tear. The prevalence of rotator cuff tear showed an upward trend in the four quartiles of total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein ratio (21.65%,24.15%,25.76% and 28.44%). Conclusion There is a correlation between Dyslipidemia and rotator cuff tear. With the increase of the total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein ratio, the risk of rotator cuff tear increase.
