Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of the percutaneous dilatation vertebroplasty (Vesselplasty)for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures.Methods In the present respective study from January 2017 to January 2018,30 cases of osteoporotic compression fractures were treated with vesselplasty,including 9 males and 21 females,aged 59to 89,with an average age of 72.2.The pain score and imaging before and after surgery were collected and evaluated.Results All the patients were followed up for 4~6 months (5.5 months on average).A distinct pain relief occurred in the majority cases after surgery.The height and kyphosis angle of the responsible vertebral body were improved significantly and no serious complications such as cement leakage into the spinal canal were observed.Conclusion Vesselplasty can effectively relieve the pain,restore the height of fracture vertebral body and avoid bone cement leakage.In particular,it is an effective treatment for the fracture of broken cortical bone.
